Review Policy

On my YouTube channel Katie and I made a video on our review policy.
This policy is pretty much the same for my blog. I will not post spoilers in my reviews, and I will only reveal as much information about the plot as is on the back cover. The only reviews this might not apply to are if I'm reviewing any classics. If for any reason I do decide I want to talk about spoliery stuff I will say so. It's more likely that I'll write a post with spoliers if I'm just fangirling about something rather than if I'm posting a review.

I am happy to take suggestions for books to review so if  you do want to suggest anything for me to review leave the title and author in a comment and I'll have a look and see if it looks like something I might like.

    Great beauty hides dark secrets...

Seventeen-year-old Anastasia Lockhart has never led an easy life, but when she starts getting into serious trouble, she’s sent to live with her grandparents in Cedar Falls. The small, picturesque town hasn’t changed since she visited four years ago, with one exception – the presence of a handsome, mysterious boy named Frost. Despite warnings from her grandparents and friends to stay away from Frost, Anastasia can’t deny their attraction, and the more time they spend together, the deeper in love they fall. Unfortunately, Frost has a secret that is beyond Anastasia’s wildest imagination, and she soon finds herself in the midst of a supernatural legend that has haunted Cedar Falls for years.

Can Anastasia and Frost’s love really overcome anything, or are their fates much darker?

The book trailer can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wF5tgp4RjFk

If a review isn’t possible, I’d be willing to have a giveaway.

    Thanks SO much!

    Looking forward to your reply,

  5. Hi Louisa and Katie!

My name is Yordan Zhelyazkov and I’m a fantasy author. A novel of mine is getting published soon (Aug 17) so I started looking for reviewers and found you through a booktubers list in goodreads.

The novel’s called “When They Shine Brightest” and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B011JD9VEC (blurb and cover art can be seen there). It's 264 pages long and it's both a stand-alone and leaves some things open for continuation. Here's a link to Goodreads as well: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23595400-when-they-shine-brightest

As for the project itself – since I’m actually a Bulgarian, the book was originally written in Bulgarian and is getting published by one of the most prominent publishers here – “Enthusiast”. One of the greatest modern sf/f Bulgarian authors worked with me on the edits (Luben Dilov-junior) but I also got the bright idea to get the book translated into English and self-publish it online. You know – for the lolz. The translation was done by a professional translator with native American-English and two decades of experience (Alexander Gurovski). It also just went through its final edits by Tia Bach (at ibgw.net/).

All that was funded through a successful crowdfunding campaign in IndieGoGo (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/when-they-shine-brightest-a-fantasy-novel/#/story). A sample, a bio, a blog, maps and more on the book and the project you can find on my website: http://yzfantasy.com/. If you’re interested just tell write me back at jjeliazkoff@gmail.com and I'll send you an ebook.

    Thanks! ;)
